The Team
Dr. Sarah ONeill
VMD, DACVD
Dr. Sarah ONeill grew up in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. She graduated from the University of Maryland College Park in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. She then attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating Magna Cum Laude and obtaining a Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) in 2006. In 2007 she completed a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Tinton Falls, New Jersey.
Dr. ONeill completed a three-year residency in veterinary dermatology at the University of Tennes- see in 2010. She is board certified and a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD).
She lives with her husband, Matthew, three sons (Porter, Jameson, and Hayes), and two dogs (an English Bulldog named Moses and a Blue Heeler mix named Ranger Steve). Dr. ONeill also enjoys outdoor activities, the UK Wildcats, and Nashville Predators.
Dr. Mandy Ackermann
DVM, DAVCD
Dr. Ackermann was born and raised in Louisville, KY. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology and French from Vanderbilt University. She went to Auburn University for her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Dr. Ackermann completed her rotating internship at Pittsburg Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center and finished her three-year Dermatology residency at the University of Tennessee. She is board certified and a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD).
Dr. Ackermann lives in downtown Nashville with her husband Landon and three dogs (two English Cream Golden Retrievers named Dougie and Stella, and a Pit Bull named Karen). She is a die hard Louisville Cardinals fan, but loves watching all kinds of sporting events. She also enjoys cooking, hiking, live music and traveling.
Dr. Lindsay McKay
DVM, DACVD
Dr. McKay received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida in 2003. She went on to complete an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at VCA Berwyn and VCA Aurora in the Chicago suburbs and then completed a three-year residency in Dermatology at VCA Aurora in 2007. She became board certified in dermatology that same year.
Dr. McKay practiced at VCAs in the western suburbs of Chicago for over 20 years before moving to the Nashville area in the summer of 2024. She is now practicing at Animal Dermatology Group - Nashville.
Dr. McKay is actively involved in continuing education speaking locally and nationally. She also enjoys clinical research and has participated in numerous dermatology trials studying novel therapies for canine atopic dermatitis and allergic itch as well as for treatment of allergic disease in cats.
Dr. McKay offers total management of allergic disease including allergy testing and allergen-specific immunotherapy, as well as diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune diseases, alopecias, and chronic recurrent bacterial skin infection, otitis and pododermatitis. Dr. McKay and her dermatology technicians place a high value on client communication and dedication to excellence in dermatology and look forward to helping dogs and cats with their dermatology needs.
